About Us

Who We Are

The Washington-Lincoln Alumni Association of Dallas, Inc. is a dedicated group of graduates from Booker T. Washington High School and Lincoln High School, devoted to supporting education and the community. Since its founding in 1976, WLAA has awarded over $1 million in scholarships.

Today, members come together to provide the following services:

  • Scholarships for alumni of Washington or Lincoln High Schools

  • Tutorial services & mentoring

  • Community outreach & engagement

Our History

  • 1922

    Booker T. Washington High School Opens

  • 1939

    Lincoln High School Opens

  • 1939-1961

    Booker T. Washington and Lincoln High Schools serve as the only high school education options for Black students until integration occurs

  • 1976

    Alumni from both schools unite forming the Washington-Lincoln Alumni Association, Inc. Founders include (Front Row, Left to Right) Ora Drone-Hinton, Rachel Holloway-Wells, Opal Williams-Jones, Marilyn Boyd-Mask, (Second Row, Left to Right) Dr. Emerson Emory, James A. Lister, Charles Alonzo Shepherd, and Hardie Ensley, Jr.

    Over $1 million in scholarships awarded to graduates of Booker T. Washington and Lincoln High Schools
